When payment is due
Every invoice is payable by the due date printed on it. That date comes from the credit terms agreed for your account; where none have been agreed, invoices are due 14 days from the date of issue.
Bookings made by accepting a quote are payable on receipt of the invoice. The booking is confirmed once it’s paid.
How to pay
By bank transfer to the account shown on the invoice, quoting the invoice number as the reference, or by card using the payment link on the invoice where one is offered.
Some invoices are assigned to our finance partner and carry their bank details instead of ours. Pay those only to the account printed on that invoice.
The reminders we send
Once an invoice has been sent, we email a reminder to the address on your account on each of these days. They stop as soon as payment is recorded. If your payment is already on its way, you can ignore them.

Late payment — business customers
If you buy from us in the course of a business, the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 applies to every invoice. If an invoice is still unpaid 14 days after its due date, we will claim:
- Interest at 8% a year above the Bank of England base rate — currently 11.75% a year — calculated daily on the unpaid amount from the day after the due date until we receive payment. The base rate used is the one in force on the 30 June or 31 December immediately before the due date.
- Fixed compensation for each late invoice: £40 where the amount owed is under £1,000, £70 from £1,000 to £9,999.99, and £100 for £10,000 or more.
- Reasonable recovery costs beyond that compensation, if we have to incur them.
These charges are payable in addition to the invoice and are not subject to VAT. Every reminder from day 14 sets out what has been charged to that date. The invoice itself never changes — it stays exactly as issued.
Private customers
If you’re booking for yourself rather than for a business, no late payment charges apply. You’ll receive the same reminders so nothing is missed.
If you think an invoice is wrong
Tell us before the due date at info@finerfleet.com or on 020 3773 1555. We’ll pause the reminders on that invoice while we look into it, and correct it with a credit note or a replacement invoice if we got it wrong.
Our records
Once an invoice has been sent or paid it is kept as a permanent record and is never deleted. Corrections are always made by credit note or a new invoice, so both of us can see exactly what was billed and when.
